How to Prepare for Go-Live Launch Day
Go-live is the most critical moment in a project. With the right preparation, it is smooth and uneventful. This article explains how to prepare and what to expect on the day.
Pre-Launch Checklist (2 Weeks Before)
- UAT complete and signed off
- All critical and high bugs resolved
- Data migration rehearsal completed (if applicable)
- Rollback plan documented and tested
- Communications plan prepared (for users, staff, or customers who will be affected)
- Support arrangements confirmed (who handles issues on launch day and the following week?)
- Monitoring and alerting configured and tested
- Load/performance testing completed at expected launch-day volumes
The Day Before Launch
- Final production environment check
- Confirm deployment schedule with Progressive Robot
- Confirm who is available on your side on the day (and their contact details)
- Briefing for internal stakeholders — what to expect, what to do if they encounter issues
Launch Day
- We deploy according to the agreed schedule — typically outside business hours for lower risk
- A Progressive Robot engineer is on standby for the first 2 hours post-deployment
- We monitor dashboards actively during this period
- You have a designated point of contact at Progressive Robot for the day
Post-Launch (First Week)
The first week after launch is a hypercare period. We monitor closely and respond to issues with elevated priority. Any bugs reported in this period are treated as production issues regardless of their standard priority classification.
