White-Label & Reseller Arrangements Explained
Some clients commission work from Progressive Robot with the intention of delivering it under their own brand to their own clients. This is known as a white-label or reseller arrangement, and it carries specific contractual and operational considerations.
What Is a White-Label Arrangement?
A white-label arrangement means Progressive Robot builds the product or service, but you present it to your clients as your own offering. Your clients may not know that Progressive Robot is involved, and we operate in the background.
Contractual Considerations
- Confidentiality: By default, our NDA means we do not disclose our involvement in your projects to third parties
- IP ownership: The deliverable IP transfers to you on full payment, as per your SoW — you are free to sub-license or sell it
- Sub-licensing: You may sub-license the deliverable to your own clients without restriction unless specifically noted in your contract
- Liability chain: You are responsible for your contractual obligations to your own clients — Progressive Robot's liability is limited to you, not to your end clients
Operational Considerations
- We do not attend meetings with your clients unless you introduce us and obtain their consent
- We do not respond to support requests from your clients directly — all communication flows through you
- If you want us to provide white-label support to your clients, this can be arranged under a separate Support SLA
Pricing for White-Label Work
White-label arrangements are priced the same as direct client work unless you are reselling significant volumes — in which case, speak to your Account Manager about a reseller pricing arrangement.
