What Is a Statement of Work (SoW)?
A Statement of Work (SoW) is a project-specific document that defines exactly what Progressive Robot will deliver for you, by when, and for how much. It operates under your Master Services Agreement (MSA).
What a SoW Contains
- Project overview: A plain-English summary of what we are building and why
- Scope of work: A detailed list of deliverables and what is explicitly excluded
- Timeline: Key milestones, sprint schedule, or delivery dates
- Pricing: Fixed price, time & materials rate, or retainer amount
- Payment schedule: When invoices will be raised (e.g. deposit, milestones, completion)
- Acceptance criteria: How you and we agree that deliverables are "done"
- Client responsibilities: What you are committing to provide (access, feedback timelines, content)
- Assumptions: The assumptions the quote is based on (if they prove wrong, costs may change)
Why the Scope Section Matters
The scope section is the most important part of the SoW. It defines what is included and what is not. Anything not listed in scope is a potential change request, which means additional time and cost. Read the scope section carefully before signing and raise any questions with your Account Manager.
Signing and Starting Work
We use DocuSign or equivalent e-signature for SoW sign-off. Work does not begin until the SoW is signed and (where applicable) the deposit is paid. Verbal agreements to proceed are not binding.
Multiple SoWs Under One MSA
If you run multiple projects with us, each will have its own SoW. The MSA applies to all of them.
