Spacing and Clear Space Rules
A logo needs room to breathe. Clear space rules define the minimum gap that must surround your logo so it is never crowded by other elements, which keeps it prominent and easy to recognise.
These rules sound fussy but they are one of the simplest ways to keep a brand looking professional across many hands and many layouts.
What Clear Space Means
Clear space is a protected zone around the logo where no text, images or other logos may intrude. It is usually defined relative to part of the logo itself, so it scales naturally at any size.
Why It Matters
- Stops the logo looking cramped or cluttered.
- Maintains impact and recognition.
- Keeps layouts tidy and consistent.
- Prevents accidental clashes with nearby content.
Minimum Sizes Too
Alongside clear space, we set a minimum size below which the logo should not be used, ensuring it never appears so small that the detail becomes an unreadable blur.
