Publishing and Scheduling Content

Publishing and Scheduling Content

Knowing the difference between saving, publishing and scheduling gives you full control over when your audience sees new content. It also prevents half-finished work appearing live by accident.

This guide explains each status and shows how to line up content to go out automatically at the right moment.

Content Statuses Explained

Every page or post sits in one of a few states. Understanding them is the key to confident publishing.

  • Draft: visible only to logged-in editors while you work.
  • Pending review: finished and waiting for a colleague to approve.
  • Scheduled: set to go live automatically at a chosen date and time.
  • Published: live and visible to your audience.

Scheduling for Later

Scheduling lets you prepare content in advance and release it at a peak time without anyone clicking a button at that moment.

  1. Finish and preview your content as normal.
  2. Find the Publish options and choose a future date and time.
  3. Confirm to set it as scheduled.
  4. Check it has gone live afterwards, just to be sure.
