Getting Started: Logging In and Finding Your Way
The first day with a new website or admin panel can feel overwhelming, but the layout is more logical than it looks. This guide walks your team through signing in safely and getting comfortable with where everything lives.
Once you know how to log in, read the dashboard and find the main areas, almost every other task becomes far easier. Keep this article handy for new starters in their first week.
Signing In for the First Time
We will send each user a personal login link or set of credentials. Never share these between colleagues — individual accounts keep your data secure and let us see who changed what.
- Open the admin address we provided, usually your domain followed by
/adminor/wp-admin. - Enter your username or email and your password.
- Complete any two-factor prompt on your phone.
- Bookmark the page so you can return quickly.
Understanding the Dashboard
The dashboard is your home screen after logging in. It gives a snapshot of recent activity and links to the areas you use most.
- Navigation menu: usually down the left, listing pages, posts, media and settings.
- Quick actions: shortcuts to add new content without hunting through menus.
- Account menu: top corner, where you update your profile and log out.
- Notifications: alerts about updates or messages that need attention.
