Phishing Awareness for Your Team
Phishing emails try to trick your team into handing over passwords or clicking dangerous links, and they are getting more convincing. A few minutes of awareness training pays for itself many times over.
This guide explains how to spot a phishing attempt, what to do with a suspicious message, and how to build a culture where reporting is encouraged.
Spotting a Phishing Email
Phishing relies on urgency and impersonation. Slowing down to check is your best defence.
- An urgent or threatening tone pushing fast action.
- A sender address that does not quite match the brand.
- Links that point somewhere unexpected on hover.
- Requests for passwords, payments or personal details.
What to Do
When in doubt, do not click. Verifying through another channel takes moments and avoids disaster.
- Do not click links or open attachments.
- Confirm with the supposed sender by phone or a known address.
- Report it to your IT contact or us.
- Delete it once it has been reported.
