Non-Compete & Non-Solicitation Provisions
Our contracts include provisions that protect both parties' interests during and after the engagement. This article explains what these provisions mean in practice.
Non-Solicitation (Client Protecting Progressive Robot)
You agree not to directly solicit or hire Progressive Robot employees or contractors who have worked on your project, for a defined period following the end of the engagement (typically 12 months). This is standard professional services practice and protects our ability to retain the skilled team members who deliver your projects.
If you wish to hire a team member, contact your Account Manager first — we can discuss an introduction fee arrangement as an alternative.
Non-Solicitation (Progressive Robot Protecting You)
Progressive Robot will not directly solicit your employees or key contacts for the duration of the engagement and for 12 months thereafter.
Non-Compete (What We Do and Don't Agree To)
We do not agree to broad non-compete clauses that would prevent us from working in your industry sector. Given that we work across multiple sectors, such restrictions would be unreasonable. However, we do agree to:
- Not using your confidential information to benefit a direct competitor
- Not disclosing proprietary business processes or trade secrets to other clients
- Maintaining separate team assignments if there is a genuine conflict of interest situation
If You Have Specific Concerns
If your project involves genuinely unique intellectual property or market-sensitive trade secrets, speak to your Account Manager at contract stage. We can discuss additional protections appropriate to your situation.
