FAQs: Common Client Questions Answered

A collection of the most frequently asked questions from clients, across all aspects of working with Progressive Robot.

Getting Started

How long does a typical project take? This varies enormously based on scope. A small web application may take 8–12 weeks. A complex enterprise platform could take 12–18 months. We provide a detailed project timeline at the proposal stage.

Do I need to be technical to work with you? No. We are skilled at translating technical concepts into plain English. Your Account Manager and Project Manager are trained to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Projects

What happens if requirements change during the project? Changes are managed through our formal change request process. We assess the impact on timeline and budget and get your approval before proceeding.

Can I see the code you write? Yes. The code repository is yours — you have access at all times. You own the intellectual property on completion.

What if I'm not happy with a deliverable? Raise it immediately with your Project Manager. We have a clear revision and acceptance process. We want you to be satisfied and will work to resolve concerns.

Payments

Do you charge by the day or by the project? Both models are available. Fixed-price projects and time-and-materials both have their place — your Account Manager will recommend the right model for your project type.

What if the project goes over budget? For fixed-price projects, overruns due to our errors are covered by us. Overruns due to scope changes are raised as change requests for your approval before costs are incurred.

Support

What happens after the project is delivered? We offer ongoing support retainers. If you don't have a retainer, we can provide ad hoc support — though response times are slower and ad hoc rates apply.

Who do I contact in an emergency? Your Account Manager for business issues; the emergency support number (in your SLA) for critical system issues out of hours.
