Video Will Not Play

Video Will Not Play

A video that refuses to play frustrates visitors and can make a page feel broken. The cause may be the video file itself, the way it is embedded, or something on the viewer's device or connection.

Most video issues are straightforward to diagnose once you know what to look for. This guide helps you tell a site problem from a local one.

Common Causes

Playback problems usually trace to one of these.

  • A slow connection unable to stream the video.
  • An unsupported file format or broken embed.
  • A browser extension blocking the player.
  • The hosting source (such as YouTube) being unavailable.

What to Check

These steps separate a site fault from a viewer-side one.

  1. Try the video on a different device or browser.
  2. Pause briefly to let it buffer on a slow connection.
  3. Disable ad-blockers or privacy extensions temporarily.
  4. Note whether one video or all videos fail.

How We Resolve It

If the embed or file is at fault, we can re-encode the video into a widely supported format, fix the embed code, or move it to a reliable streaming service for smooth playback. Raise a ticket with the page address.

If you need a hand with any of this, your Progressive Robot delivery team is ready to help. Raise a ticket from the Support area of your client portal or speak to your account manager and we will guide you through the next steps.
