How to Use Figma: A Client Guide
Figma is our primary design tool — a browser-based platform for creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design systems. This guide explains how to use it as a client reviewer, without needing to be a designer.
Accessing Your Designs
We share Figma files with you via a link. You can view (and comment on) any file we share without a paid Figma account — a free "viewer" account is sufficient. Open the link in any modern browser.
Navigating a Figma File
- Pages: A file may have multiple pages (tabs at the top of the left panel) — one per section, stage, or device type
- Frames: Each screen design is contained in a frame (a box with a screen name). Scroll or use the page overview to see all screens.
- Zoom: Ctrl/Cmd + scroll to zoom in/out. Press 0 to fit the view to the screen. Click individual frames to zoom to them.
- Prototype mode: Click the play button (top right) to launch an interactive prototype where you can click through screens as a user would
Leaving Comments
- Press C to activate the comment tool, or click the speech bubble icon in the toolbar
- Click on the element you want to comment on
- Type your feedback and press Enter
- Your comment will be pinned to that location and visible to our team
What to Look For When Reviewing
Focus on: does this solve the user's problem? Is the content accurate? Does it reflect the brand? Does the layout make sense? Leave visual style decisions to us — unless something clearly violates your brand guidelines.
