The hero is the large area at the top of a page — usually a headline, a short supporting line, a clear button and an image. It is the first thing visitors see and often decides whether they stay.
You have only a few seconds to answer the visitor's silent question: “Am I in the right place?” A strong hero answers it instantly.
What a Strong Hero Includes
- A clear headline stating what you offer and for whom.
- A short line of supporting detail or benefit.
- One obvious call-to-action button.
- A relevant image that reinforces the message.
Common Mistakes
Vague slogans, too many competing buttons, and heavy images that slow loading all weaken a hero. Clarity and speed beat cleverness every time.
- Avoid jargon — say plainly what you do.
- Lead with one primary action, not five.
- Optimise the image so it loads fast.
Test, Don't Guess
