Contact Form Not Working
Your contact form is often the main way customers reach you, so when it stops working it can silently cost you enquiries. The form may submit without error yet never deliver the message, or it may show a fault when someone tries to send.
Form problems usually fall into two groups: the form not submitting, or the email not arriving. This guide helps you tell which, and what to do about each.
Likely Causes
Most contact form issues trace back to a short list of causes.
- Email delivery problems, so the form works but messages do not arrive.
- A spam-protection setting blocking genuine submissions.
- A recent plugin or theme update breaking the form.
- A required field or recipient address set incorrectly.
How to Test It
A careful test tells us exactly where the problem lies.
- Submit the form yourself with a real message.
- Note any on-screen success or error message.
- Check the inbox and spam folder for the test message.
- Try again from a different device or browser.
