Cannot Upload Large Files

Cannot Upload Large Files

Trying to upload a big image, video or document and seeing it fail or time out is a common frustration. Servers set limits on how large an upload can be, and a file over that limit will be rejected.

These limits exist for good reasons but can usually be raised where genuinely needed. This guide explains what is happening and how it is resolved.

Why Uploads Fail

Large-file upload problems come from a few server limits.

  • A maximum upload size set lower than your file.
  • A time limit reached before the upload finishes.
  • A slow connection causing the upload to drop.
  • Insufficient memory to process the file.

What to Try

A few practical steps often help straight away.

  1. Compress the file or reduce an image's dimensions.
  2. Use a wired or faster connection if possible.
  3. Note the file size and any error message shown.
  4. Try uploading one file at a time.

How We Help

We can raise the upload and time limits safely, add more memory for processing, or set up a more robust upload method for very large files. Tell us the file type and size you need to handle and we will configure the server accordingly.

If you need a hand with any of this, your Progressive Robot delivery team is ready to help. Raise a ticket from the Support area of your client portal or speak to your account manager and we will guide you through the next steps.
